About us
BeautySnakes.nl is a herptologic co-operation between two friends Gerard Heijnen and Peter van Zwol. Gerard and Peter are both hobbyist, they have no company. Let us introduce ourselves.
Gerard Heijnen
"Hi, I'am Gerard Heijnen and I started with reptiles in 1973. Since my childhood I was interested in crawling animals. My reptiles-keeping started with 2 green waterturtles. After that I started with newts and lizards and in 1975 I bought my first snakes. They were Thamnophis, fisheating snakes from North America. My first hatchlings were a lot of little Thamnophis babies. The smell of (rotting) fish decided me to start with Elaphes now called Pantherophis and Lampropeltis. At this moment I keep together with my wife Ineke many snakes. You can read more about those snakes in this website. It is always a big challenge for me to hatch with new snakes".
Peter van Zwol
"Hello, my name is Peter van Zwol . I kept reptiles since 1990 together with my wife Monique . Together we look after our snakes and keep them with love. At this moment I started a new project with special (albino) Ballpythons. The most of my snakes I keep are cornsnakes in a lot of colours and variations. It is also for me a big challenge to hatch with them and to produce new lines".

Together we have a few hundreds hatchlings every year.

Colour
BeautySnakes.nl has chosen for two colours, orange and blue. You will see those colours on our website, on the labels, on the fair tables and in our communication. Orange is the colour of The Netherlands. It is our national colour. We are proud of this colour and you can recognize us abroad. The blue colour is the colour of water. In the Netherlands we have a lot of water. Water means dynamics, refreshing and is indispensable. Our co-operation tries to emit this.
